In addition, the committee participates at UHS Open Houses (especially the Multicultural Open house) and organizes the annual Multicultural Luncheon.

Multicultural Programs and Action Committee (MPAC):
This is a standing committee of UHS faculty, staff and administration. MPAC champions the fulfillment of the vision expressed in the school's mission statement: "We are a school where adults believe in the promise of every student, and together we work to build and sustain a community of diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and talents."

Administrative Initiatives

People of Color in Independent Schools (POCIS):
POCIS represents a positive effort by over 40 different member schools to assure that diversity and multiculturalism are endemic to quality education for all. As an active member of this organization, UHS is able to collaborate with other schools and facilitate various diversity initiatives within the Bay Area. For more information, see the POCIS website.

NAIS People of Color Conference (POCC):
NAIS hosts the POCC as one way of honoring its commitment to inclusion, anti-discrimination, and multicultural education. The conference mission is to provide an annual professional development opportunity dedicated to creating equitable and just schools. As an active participant in this annual conference, UHS is able to collaborate with other schools and facilitate various national diversity initiatives. For more information, see the NAIS website.
